What’s it all about

Are our online decisions being made for us, are they irrational or against our better judgement? Behavioural Design is all about the online psychology behind nudging consumer choice towards a preferred outcome. Collectively we’ll explore the science behind the decision-making process, and gain an understanding of just what makes it possible to influence decisions online and off.

Augmenting our behaviour on the day are an extraordinary array of sessions on user experience – UX – seeking to answer the fundamental questions of how to create remarkable experiences that keep users coming back time after time.

Who’s it for

The day is for anyone looking for insight into how to leverage Behavioural Economics to improve engagement on the web and get people to do what they want them to do. It’s a day for getting beyond ‘wow isn’t this interesting stuff’ and diving head first into actually applying it to your business.

Creatives of all kinds, from user experience architects to editorial managers, this day will change the way you work, design, write, create, and think, both online and off.

It's about making the most of the day

Digital Shoreditch isn’t the same as other events. It’s not the usual sit down, zone out, be talked at. We’ve carefully designed each event around three key principles:

1) Interaction: You’ll see that each day has a very full agenda of speakers. That won’t mean death by powerpoint. It does mean that some speakers will give a short taster of ideas earlier in the day so you can choose who to sit down with for a more in depth discussion.

2) Matchmaking: You might lock eyes with your ideal (business) partner within seconds of entering the room. But just in case that doesn’t happen there will be helping hands. Once you register you can use the festival app to connect with any of the participants based on mutual interests. Our social theme for this year is 'making meaningful connections' so expect plenty of activity on making this happen.

3) Networking: We make sure that there is time each day for structured and unstructured networking, in 1-1s and small groups. Digital Shoreditch is all about building fruitful relationships. You will find new friends, collaborators and clients, not just a bunch of handouts and business cards.
